When will the PORTAL Nomis ONE ship?

PORTAL expects overseas warehouse arrivals and shipping to begin in late December 2026 to early January 2027, following production completion targeted for mid-to-late November. These are manufacturer estimates, not a confirmed Kodiak delivery date. Kodiak pricing and allocation are unconfirmed.

The September 21, 2026 campaign-completion update supersedes the older FAQ estimate of August production. The Kickstarter campaign ended September 21; its crowdfunding schedule does not establish retail availability at Kodiak.

What is the Nomis ONE?

Nomis ONE is an inflatable tent with a separate AeroDeck base, intended for rooftop camping and adaptable ground use. The tent body weighs 19.4 lb, while the tent and AeroDeck together weigh 45.8 lb. Its stated interior is 204 × 131 × 125 cm, and the packed tent/base measures 82 × 45 × 40 cm.

Rooftop versus ground setup

Rooftop setup	Requires a compatible vehicle, two suitable crossbars and correct mounting. The deck rating does not replace vehicle or rack limits.
Ground setup	Uses the tent away from the vehicle roof. Follow the manufacturer setup and anchoring instructions for the chosen configuration.
Packing between trips	The deflated tent and base pack inside the vehicle rather than remaining as a rigid roof box.

Will it fit my roof rack?

The redesigned mounting system uses two separate crossbars with clearance underneath for straps. PORTAL lists an intended front-to-rear spacing of 80–100 cm, but says the final guaranteed range may narrow to 82.5–97.5 cm. Platform racks, roof baskets and longitudinal rails alone are excluded. Confirm the final mounting instructions and your vehicle and rack load limits before choosing a setup.

The September 5 update broadens fit beyond the original T-slot mounting system. It excludes flush-mounted bars without strap clearance, extra-thick bars, very smooth round bars without anti-slip contact, and installations that obstruct vehicle features. Treat fit as vehicle-specific rather than universal.

What remains unconfirmed?

Final guaranteed crossbar adjustment, Kodiak arrival, retail price and package contents remain unconfirmed. The manufacturer describes a pump, ladder, awning and liner as add-ons; do not assume they are included in a future Kodiak package.
