Choosing a turkey call

Mouth calls, also called diaphragm calls, differ in reed count, tension and cut. Pot calls use a separate playing surface and striker; check the exact listing for what is included. These are different designs to discuss with an instructor, not interchangeable measures of skill level. The product grid reflects current stocked calls; a call type described here may not currently be available.

For two examples in the mouth-call range, Pumpkin Pie – Split-V is listed by Swinging Snoods with two reeds and light tension, while The Hen Next Door – Split-V has three reeds and light tension. Neither specification establishes the right fit or easiest call for every beginner. Check the exact product description and availability before buying.
