Joy and Flex fins: size is only part of the choice

The 8-inch Joy Fin and 9-inch Joy Fin are separate sizes in the Joy family. Almond's descriptions associate them with different overlapping mid-length board ranges. Use those as model guidance, then confirm the actual board and fin-box fit.

The 7-inch Flex Fin is a different template from the 9-inch Flex Fin. The 9-inch Flex listing describes more rake and flex than the 9-inch Joy. Equal fin height therefore does not mean the same outline or construction behavior.

The 3-inch side-bite fins are a separate accessory for a compatible multi-fin setup. Do not assume a center-fin purchase includes side bites, or that a fin mentioned with one Almond board automatically fits every board generation.

Longboard templates and named makers

The 10-inch Log Rhythm, 10.5-inch Pin Fin and 9.75-inch DEE-FIN have distinct outlines and model associations. Compare their photographs, selected finish and full descriptions instead of choosing solely by height.

Almond's accessory descriptions name the collaborators who make individual pieces, including True Ames and Larry Allison for specific fins. Those credits are item-specific; this collection does not imply every fin comes from the same maker.

Horizontal, vertical and three-board storage

The horizontal wall rack displays a board across the wall, while the vertical mount supports the tail on a block and uses an adjustable leather strap. The listings identify Crawford Craft and offer different wood finishes. Compare the selected orientation with your available wall space.

The Three Board Quiver rack is a modular multi-board storage option. It is a different arrangement from a single-board display. Mounting hardware is listed as included, but suitability still depends on the mounting surface and installation; follow the rack maker's instructions.

Accessory buying questions

Does this collection currently include complete surfboards?

Kodiak's current Almond selection shown here consists of fins, racks and a fin tool. A board pictured with an accessory should not be assumed included.

What does the fin-key accessory do?

The fin key bottle opener includes a flat-head screwdriver function. Confirm that this tool matches your fin hardware; it is not evidence that every fin uses the same fastening system.

Where should I check stock and finish?

Open the specific item and select its available option for current price, stock and contents. Confirm board and box compatibility before ordering a replacement fin.
