Silky’s folding saws cover different blade lengths, while the ONO hatchet serves a separate chopping role. Start with the material and branch size you expect to work on, then compare packed size and cutting stroke.
PocketBoy Curve has a 130mm blade for smaller pruning tasks and compact storage. GOMBOY Curve offers 210mm, 240mm and 300mm options. BIGBOY 2000 extends to 360mm with a coarse curved blade. Longer blades offer more stroke but take more room to use and carry.
A saw removes material through repeated cutting strokes; a hatchet splits or chops through impact. The ONO is supplied with a sheath and should not be confused with a pruning saw. Choose the tool for the task rather than simply replacing one with the other.
Use Silky saws on the pull stroke and avoid sideways loading. Match replacement blades to the exact model, length and tooth configuration. Clean and dry the blade before storing it folded; follow the model’s care instructions.
