AFTCO Hydronaut MJ80 Jacket and MB80 Bib Release Guide

AFTCO currently labels the Hydronaut MJ80 insulated jacket and MB80 insulated bib Coming Soon. The manufacturer has not provided an exact release date on the reviewed pages. Kodiak arrival and selling prices remain unconfirmed.

AFTCO Hydronaut Insulated Jacket MJ80

The MJ80 jacket uses a two-layer nylon shell with a 30K waterproof membrane. PrimaLoft Black insulation is specified at 100g in the body and hood and 80g in the sleeves. An adjustable hood, double cuffs, zippered pockets and reflective trim complete the design.

AFTCO Hydronaut Insulated Bib MB80

The MB80 bib uses a two-layer nylon shell with a 30K waterproof membrane. PrimaLoft Black insulation is specified at 100g in the upper body and seat and 80g in the legs. Features include adjustable shoulders, an elasticized back, handwarmer pockets and a reinforced 300D pliers pocket.

Jacket versus bib

The jacket covers the upper body and adds a hood and double cuffs. The bib provides lower-body and torso coverage with adjustable shoulder support. They are separate garments, not a bundled suit. Both use PrimaLoft Black, but the insulation placement differs as described above. Match the MJ80 or MB80 style code when comparing listings; older Hydronaut insulated models may use different fills.
