Which model fits which application?

The 7 ft Conventional rods offer Fast action. Slick Butt models offer shorter 6 ft or 6 ft 6 in formats with Moderate Fast or Moderate action. The table for the Conventional family separates mono and PowerPro ratings; do not substitute one rating for the other.

The 5 ft Deep Drop models are the purpose-specific option; Shimano describes curved Unibutts for that pair. The 6 ft Ring Guide Uni Butt models provide the longer general offshore format. Compare the exact model code and line type: the Deep Drop table uses PowerPro ratings and the Uni Butt table uses mono ratings. Those ratings are not interchangeable.

B-series versus earlier listings

Search results also include earlier A-series rods. Match the full B-series model code above before comparing specifications or availability. A listing for an older Talavera rod does not establish availability of these models.

What remains unknown?

A firm manufacturer release day, Kodiak allocation, Kodiak retail prices and Kodiak delivery dates remain unconfirmed. Availability notifications are not reservations or preorders.
